Germany 1946. Hunger, rubble and returning soldiers. Young Charlotte is pregnant, but her beloved returnee Ludwig wants neither her nor his child. To win him over and escape the threat of disgrace, she enrolls in the „Fräulein Course“ taught by actress Gloria Deven, who was an aspiring movie starlet under fascism and is now banned from working. The word on the street is that the course teaches you how to win and retain any man. But Gloria, with her merciless teaching, is not interested in reviving the girls‘ coquetry, which had become unnecessary during the war. Instead, she awakens in her students a longing for something that has been denied them for too long: Freedom.
Already during the first steps of „Trümmermädchen“ in 2017 Oliver and I talked intensively about the music for this really exceptional film. Although my friend and fellow composer Patrick Puszko ended up composing the score for Trümmermädchen, I contributed an equally off-the-wall song like the film itself for one of the film’s core moments. A homage to the great Iggy Pop, pulsing, groovy beats from 80s drum machines and wacky guitars and snythi sounds. The song was also chosen as the trailer music for the feature film.

When Olivia learns that her ex-boyfriend Lukas has gone abroad (without telling her a word), she is determined: she must win him back. The only problem is that she’s the one who ended the relationship. Her best friend Toni has a better plan: two weeks until the letter arrives. That’s two weeks for Olivia to get over him and learn to stand by herself and her decisions.
Drums, guitars, bass and piano: a pragmatic band, just as crazy as Olivia and Toni, the two main characters of „Fishing Avocados“, is all the music needed. A crossover of funk, rock and blues genres drives the plot of the series forward. It plays with the comic dialogues and gags of the series just as it underlines the emotional moments.

Billy, the lazy little laboratory fly, is basking under a heat lamp at night when suddenly the power goes out.
The tired blowfly has an idea how to get her beloved lamp back on – the power box! If only there weren’t so many switches…
Writing music for animated films is always so much fun because everything is there: huge dramatic orchestral music as well as tiny percussion elements and scary effects. “High Voltage“ has it all…even a love song!
In „O.P.A.,“ a fully automated household helper turns a cozy retiree’s world completely upside down.
In „O.P.A.“ analog meets digital. Just like the two characters in the film, worlds collide on the sound level: on the one hand, there is the friendly and cozy music, and on the other, the tireless and grueling sound design. A wonderful example of how important the collaboration of sound design and film music is.
Since the accidental death of her younger sister 3 years ago, 22-year-old Nadine feels 22-year-old Nadine feels incapable of forming relationships with other people. One evening, her mother unexpectedly comes to visit Nadine to introduce her new her new Russian boyfriend Alexej. Nadine and Alexei become close and eventually kiss. The
conflict-ridden relationship between Nadine and her mother is put to a put to the test.
Only an intimate upright piano was used for the minimalistic film score for „Tau“. Combined with the great acting of Henriette Confurius, it takes the viewer on a surreal short trip…and back to the present.

Andreas and Jörn share a fascination for cycling. Together they want to travel the historic Route des Grandes Alpes. A camera team accompanies them on their journey and captures not only the beauty of the French Alps, but also the changes that take place inside the cyclists. A declaration of love for bicycle travel.
When Andreas and I talked about the music for the first time, it was clear that it should transport one thing above all: Freedom. The great shots of the French Alps were accompanied by wide guitar and string sounds. Quiet moments on lonely mountains, with almost psychadelic sounds, bring the inner emotional world of the cyclists of this extreme tour to the outside.

The score of „This One Night“ is characterized by a soft piano sound. The music largely accompanies the intimate dialogues of the film and takes the viewer into an all-changing night.
